Danny Dyer Says He Stopped Verne Troyer From Hitting On His Wife

October 13, 2009

Danny Dyer had to stop Verne Troyer hitting on his wife. The British actor was horrified when Verne - best known for player Mini-Me in the "Austin Power" movies - took a shine to his spouse Joanne Mas at the Pride of Britain Awards last week, forcing him to step in and halt his advances.

Danny explained: "The little fella couldn't give a f**k about the people being given awards and spent the entire time on his BlackBerry. The thing looked like a laptop next to him! Anyway, he left halfway through, but not before he'd tried cracking on to my missus! I didn't know what to do."

Danny decided the best option was tell Verne Joanne was unavailable.

He added to Zoo magazine: "He was giving her the eye and being a right old sleaze, but I wasn't sure if I could do anything. I can't give a midget a slap, can I? So, I decided to have a 'little' word with him. He soon got the message. I'd never have lived it down if Mini-Me had chatted up the missus!"

The Pride of Britain Awards recognizes brave and outstanding achievements of U.K. citizens.
