David Beckham Sues In Touch Over Call Girl Hook-Up Claims

David Beckham is suing In Touch Weekly after running a cover last week that claims he had several sexual encounters with a high-class hooker. The soccer star also served hooker Irma Nici a $25 million libel writ.

Beckham, who is married to ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham for eleven years, claims libel, slander and intentionally causing emotional distress in the suit he filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

In Touch's parent company, Bauer Media Group, is also being sued over the alleged affair story.

Nici claims in an interview with the magazine that she had sex with the soccer star five times in 2007. She also alleges a threesome with Beckham and another hooker.

Meanwhile, a company insider at Bauer's Hamburg headquarters told the Standard that billionaire publisher Heinz Bauer is "livid" with his own journalists and "embarrassed" by the story. He is apparently already bracing for the massive payout to Beckham as he knows the German courts will side with the player.

The source said, "[Bauer] is livid. He respects his journalists but there is a feeling that something has gone terribly wrong with this one."

"The courts in germany would almost certainly side with Beckham because of stringent privacy laws. Either way, the company is looking at a massive legal bill. And the boss doesn't like being embarrassed like this."

Beckham reportedly wrote a letter to Mr. Bauer, 70, on how the unfounded claims were published by his magazine in the U.S. even after In Touch was told "repeatedly" before publication that the story was false.
