Edie Falco's Dog Inspired Her To Adopt

May 22, 2009

Edie Falco's dog inspired her to adopt. The former "Sopranos" star - who raises four-year-old adopted son Anderson and adopted daughter Macy, one, alone - decided to give two children a home after becoming attached to the pet.

She said: "I have this dog named Marley, and it is a kind of love I had never known. I have a hard time believing Marley did not come from my body. I know that sounds insane, but I feel that connected to her. She made me realize I wanted to adopt children."

The 45-year-old actress - who beat both alcoholism and breast cancer while starring in the US mafia show - hopes her dog will help her find a man next.

She quipped to Parade.com: "If only I could find a boyfriend for whom I could buy a can of food and clean up after on the street, I'd be set. Maybe I should put that ad on Match.com!"

"I'm just not one of those people who thought having biological children was that important. To me it was more about wanting to raise a child."
