John Travolta has been photographed without his familiar dark head of hair, confirming longtime rumors that the actor uses a hairpiece to hide his thinning hair.

Several photos of the "Pulp Fiction" surfaced on the Internet this week, while he was vacationing with his family at their home in Hawaii, according to The Daily Mail.

Travolta was caught relaxing on the beach and swinging on a hammock, while his wife, Kelly Preston, and his 10-year-old daughter Ella were playing on the sand. The family was celebrating the actor's 57th birthday.

The couple welcomed their third child, Benjamin, three months ago in Florida, less than two years after the tragic death of their son Jett.

Travolta, who appeared totally bald in the movie "From Paris With Love," was Tuesday's big topic on the fourth hour of the "Today" show, which sparked hosts Koda Hotb and Kathie Lee Gifford to weigh in on the actor's natural look.

"I think he's cuter without it," Hotb said.
