Eva Mendes Gets Blackballed From The White House And Is Shut Out Of Inauguration Festivities

December 17, 2008

Calvin Klein model and actress, Eva Mendes has worked with some of Hollywood's most successful leading men but there is still one leading man that her celebrity status can't get her near. Eva reports that she was refused a ticket to the White House for the inauguration events despite attempts to secure a spot on the guestlist.

Mendes is reportedly a huge fan of Obama and is upset that she was not invited to the swearing in ceremony, taking place in Washington, DC on January 20, 2009. Mendes describes the event as 'the hardest party to get into." Mendes is persistent and vows to continue in her attempts to secure a ticket to the historical event.

Mendes says she understands not wanting to make the ceremony a star-studded, celebrity event but she would love to be there. Meanwhile, Eva has been busy promoting her new film, "The Spirit," based on a 1940s comic book series. When she is not busy acting, Mendes is busy designing home furnishings.

Eva has a passion for architecture and interior design and has a new line called "Vida" available at Macys. Perhaps after the inaugural festivities have ended, Eva will be invited to the White House and maybe even design something for the First Lady; but for now Mendes will have to settle for the non-celebrity side of the velvet rope.
