Actress Emma Watson of the "Harry Potter" fame will be launching a new, fair trade clothing line for youths. The collection will be through the U.K. retailer, People Tree and will hit stores in February.

Watson released a statement on People Tree's website about the collection saying, "I wanted to help People Tree produce a younger range because I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with. It has been the most incredible gap year project."

The collection will include clothing for men and women, along with fashion and home accessories. The clothing side will offer a range of jersey t-shirts, dresses, woven skirts, trousers, shorts and knitwear. The home and fashion accessories will include hand embroidered bed throws, recycled sweeties paper jewelry, banana fiber slouchy beanies and head scarves.

Falling under the Fair Trade category, the line will use 100% organic and Fair Trade certified cotton. Fair Trade groups using hand weaving, hand knitting and hand embroidery will also help employ disadvantages people in India, Bangladesh and Nepal.

"I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren't many options out there," Watson explained.
