Report: Anna Sui Gossip Girl-Inspired Designs Still A Go At Target

The hotly anticipated Anna Sui-designed clothes inspired by the teen series "Gossip Girl" are still Target-bound and will still carry Serena and Blair lines, despite earlier reports to the contrary.

CNS previously quoted a report from the New York Daily News that said retailing giant Target pulled out at the last second from carrying the designer's "Gossip Girl"-inspired line in fear of being associated with The CW teen show. As a result, the Anna Sui line wouldn't feature the show anymore, though it would still be sold at Target outlets.

However, Target spokesperson Joshua Thomas denies the report, saying everything would go ahead as planned.

He said, "Anna Sui is the second designer in Target's Designer Collaborations program. The premise of the program is that the designer identifies a 'muse' to inspire his/her collection. Anna's muse was - and continues to be - the four female leads of 'Gossip Girl.'"

"'Gossip Girl' will be featured predominantly throughout our marketing campaign for the collection and Target is excited to be the sponsor of the 'Gossip Girl' season premiere, where the Anna Sui for Target collection commercial will also debut."

The Anna Sui for Target collection will be launched on September 13.
