December 31, 2008

Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Jennifer Hudson have been announced to appear at Neil Diamond's forthcoming charity concert at Los Angeles Convention Center on February 6, 2009.

The gala gig will take place two days before the Grammys and proceeds from the event will benefit the MusiCares program, which helps musicians in times of financial, medical and personal need, reports Rolling Stone.

Also present at the Diamond's charitable event will be Adele, John Mayer and Tim McGraw. Diamond, who will also perform, was named MusiCares 2008 Person Of The Year for his charitable work. He is being recognized for his exceptional artistic achievements as well as his philanthropic work.

The veteran singer recently donated to efforts like hurricane relief in the wake of Texas' Hurricane Ike. The previous winners of this 19-year-old award are Brian Wilson, Bono, Paul Simon, Sting, Aretha Franklin and many more.

Diamond's latest album 'Home Before Dark' hit Number One in the U.S. chart in May.
