Gary Coleman Charged With Misdemeanor Reckless Driving And Disorderly Conduct After A Confrontation With A Photo-Snapping Fan

Gary Coleman has been formally charged with misdemeanor reckless driving and disorderly conduct following an altercation with a fellow patron at a bowling alley.

24-year-old Colt Ruston claims the former "Diff'rent Strokes" actor run him down with his truck as it was backing out of an alley around midnight after a confrontation at the Payson Bowling Alley in Utah 10 days ago.

In the assault suit he filed Wednesday, Rushton says he saw Coleman, 40, and his entourage at the bowling alley and used a cell phone to take a couple of pictures of the actor and his wife. Then one of his bodyguards named Paul Rohbock confronted Rushton and told him he wasn't allowed to take photos unless he paid $20 per picture.

Outside, Rushton alleges that he decided to take another picture of the diminutive actor in their car when he was attacked from behind by either Coleman's wife, Shannon Price, or the bodyguard.

Coleman later joined the fight and punched him several times.

He offered to delete the images from his cell phone, but Price, who snatched it away from him, refused to return it.

When he attempted to retrieve his phone, the actor, now behind the wheel of his vehicle, "slammed the truck into reverse, swerved and swung the front of the truck into [Rushton], hitting him, throwing him to the ground and possibly running him over."

The victim says he was hospitalized and is seeking damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, and punitive damages.
