Gene Simmons Cool With Sharon Osbourne's "Silly Man" Comment

April 2, 2008

Gene Simmons is "cool" with being called "a silly man in a silly wig." Instead of taking offense, the lead singer of Kiss was amused with Sharon Osbourne when she made the remarks about him.

Ozzy Osbourne's wife delivered the slighting comment during her husband's Australian tour. She had said, "Gene's a prat. He's just a silly man in a silly wig."

However, Simmons, 58, just laughed the remark off with good humor.

He said, "I was quite cool with what Sharon said. I mean part of it was that there was so much media attention for Kiss."

"I honestly didn't know Ozzy was in town until Sharon delivered that sound bite, that is. That was the first I knew about it. 'He's a tw*t, he wears women's clothing,' whatever it was she said. That's cool. It's edgy. I love that."

Kiss is famously known for their trademark face paint and outrageous stage costumes. They had taken their get-up on the personae of comic-book style characters. Simmons is known for being "The Demon," which represent his cynicism and dark elements.
