George Clooney says he's done "too many drugs" to be a politician

George Clooney is both an actor and an activist, but he won't be following in the footsteps of fellow actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Reagan and getting into politics anytime soon. His reason? Well, he's done too many drugs.

While Clooney is among the actors who've been considered as a possible Democratic candidate (along with being anti-war and for stricter gun laws, he's also active with programs like Save Darfur and Not On Our Watch), he says his past would prevent him from running for office.

"I didn't live my life in the right way for politics, you know," George Clooney told Newsweek . "I [expletive] too many chicks and did too many drugs, and that's the truth."

Well, unlike most politicians, at least he's honest. Clooney says for politicians, that should definitely be the best policy.

He says they should "start from the beginning by saying, 'I did it all. I drank the bong water. Now let's talk about issues,'" Clooney continued. "That's gonna be my campaign slogan: 'I drank the bong water.'"

When he isn't using his star power to raise awareness on issues like the war in Sudan, where he he's spent time funding a satellite that monitors military movement in an especially unstable area, he's playing a politician on the big screen.

He's next starring in "The Ides of March," based on the play by Beau Willimon, where he plays a governor who engages in some dirty politics as he runs for President of the United States.
