Geri Halliwell Splits From Fiance Fabrizio Politi

Geri Halliwell has split from her fiance. The former Spice Girl - who enjoyed a whirlwind romance with Italian tycoon Fabrizio Politi, getting engaged to him shortly after they met in a nightclub last December - has called time on their relationship after deciding she wants to be on her own.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Geri woke up one morning last week and decided she just wasn't the marrying type."

"She loved being in a relationship but decided that all she needs is her daughter Bluebell to keep her happy. Fabrizio is upset but totally respects Geri's wishes"

Geri has a daughter, two-year-old Bluebell, from a previous relationship with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi.

Friends of the 36-year-old star insist they are not surprised by her decision, as she "has a track record for getting cold feet."

Only last month it was reported the pair were planning a summer wedding in Las Vegas and that Geri was already considering having a baby with 34-year-old Fabrizio.

Geri recently admitted she is whimsical when it comes to relationships.

She said: "I can be fickle. One minute I think somebody is the love of my life, the next I don't. I have commitment issues."
