Girl Who Tore Justin Bieber's Poster Talks About Dealing With Cyber Bullies

September 7, 2010 Yes, Justin Bieber

Sydney Dalton, a former Justin Bieber fan who became the target of thousands of enraged Internet-surfing tweens after she tore a poster of the singer, became a YouTube sensation herself. And while her contemporaries are still childishly wishing her death, this 15-year-old has a mature way of dealing with cyber bullies.

Dalton posted a video of her and her friends tearing up Bieber's posters, with a goal to make people laugh. But the 16-year-old fans, who have a reputation for sending death threats to anyone who malign their idol or claim that she was his girlfriend, didn't find the video funny.

In fact, they found her offensive and a sorry excuse for tweens everywhere. They posted videos and set up sites to call Dalton a "slut," "whore," and a lot of other words 16 years old and younger girls shouldn't even know about. And yes, she also gets death threats from them.

Surprisingly, instead of crying and shutting herself out, Dalton is taking the cyber bullying very maturely.

In an interview with 4tnz.com, she has an advice to others who have also been a victim of malicious attacks from Web surfers.

She said, "Don't let it slide. Take action. If we just keep saying to ourselves 'Oh, it's not that big of a deal, they aren't going to do anything,' cyber bullying will never stop. Some people are stronger than others. Some people take some of the things that are said to them seriously and kill themselves over it, and that is not okay."

"So my advice to victims would be to speak out about it, tell a parent/guardian or an adult and put a stop to it."

And while she still likes Bieber, she thinks that his fans "need to grow up. Some of them are absolutely crazy. And I think they will later realize I wasn't so bad once they get over Justin."
