Girlicious member Natalie Mejia has been arrested for allegedly carrying cocaine. The 21-year-old singer and a male companion were busted after police found her purse full of the illegal substance.

Mejia was riding in a 1998 Ford Mustang driven by companion Peter Asencio, 28, when they were pulled over for speeding. It was then learned that Asencio's license was suspended so the officers searched the vehicle.

That is when they discovered more than a dozen bags of cocaine in Mejia's purse. She was charged with a felony count of drug possession, while Asencio was booked with a felony count of possession and misdemeanor count of driving without a valid license.

Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz told eonline.com that Mejia denied knowing how the cocaine got into her purse, while the driver claimed it was his.

Mejia was released on $30,000 bail. She is scheduled for arraignment on April 15.

Girlicious was founded by Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin. They were formed during a search on the 2008 reality series "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious."
