Hilary Duff Responds To Faye Dunaway Slam Over "Bonnie & Clyde" Remake

February 4, 2009

Hilary Duff, who last appeared in last year's dark comedy "War Inc.", is waging a war of her own with legendary film actress Faye Dunaway. Duff has responded to the not-so-favorable remarks Dunaway reportedly said about the young star reprising Dunaway's breakout role of "Bonnie Parker" in an upcoming remake of the 1967 film, "Bonnie & Clyde."

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Dunaway slammed Duff, responding to the casting news by saying: "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"

Duff responded to the attack on E's Daily 10, telling host Michael Yo "I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is, so you know.... I think it was a little unnecessary but I might be mad if I looked like that now, too."

Ironically, Duff was photographed in a nod to Dunaway for the May 2008 issue in a "Bonnie" inspired photo shoot. The upcoming movie, "The Story of Bonnie & Clyde", is set to begin production in April.
