Isaac Mizrahi, Iman Say "The Fashion Show: The Ultimate Collection" Is A "Game Changer"

If you're like me, you watched the first season of Bravo's "The Fashion Show" and realized "Project Runway" was sew yesterday. With fashion design icon Isaac Mizrahi at the helm and hem, and an entire cast of memorable designers (like fan-favorites Anna and Daniella, the still-confusing Merlin), "The Fashion Show" was the ultimate show about fashion on television.

Now, "The Fashion Show" is back for a second season and, naturally, it's even bigger and better than ever. Out is "Commander" singer Kelly Rowland, who must be busy putting the finishing touches on her new dance album. In is celebrated supermodel and style icon Iman. Enough said.

"The Fashion Show: The Ultimate Collection" has been re-dressed to instead split the designers into two fashion houses, working towards creating two cohesive collections. The result is, as the title promises, a fashion show every week. And with the show's upgraded set and runway, they're more awe-inspiring than ever.

"When you have individual designers creating individual looks for a challenge, you really don't see a fashion show," Iman told AHN. "So the element of creating something that is unique, different than what has ever been put on TV when it comes to fashion was very important for both Isaac and I."

Iman and Isaac don't only play host and judges on "The Fashion Show: The Ultimate Collection." They also serve as Executive Producers. With that much more clout, Mizrahi admitted he was nervous to jumpstart the new season of the show, with its brand new focus on cohesive collections and real-word runway shows.

"And I think the minute the show started and the music started and the first model looked out, I thought, oh my God, this is the best show I ever saw, I mean, in terms of TV," Isaac told AHN. "I thought, wow, this really means something. This is meaningful."

And what's a design show without its designers, which "The Fashion Show" has 13 competing for the grand prize of a spread in Harper's Bazaar magazine and $125,000 for their own fashion line. Among the contestants this time around are boutique owner and, as the early episodes suggest, resident villain Calvin Tran, who lists Drew Barrymore and Piper Perabo among his fans.

Also featured this season are Nordstrom-seamstress-turned-women's-wear-designer Tamara Jones, Iranian-born designer Golnessa Farmanara, and Francine Simmons, whose designs have been worn by Britney Spears and "The View" host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

"Where Season 1, it felt slightly like, you know, more sort of, like about the personalities of the, you know, the kids. And now it's really about the making of clothes and the passion about making clothes," Isaac said. "And I think that's the drama that you're going to be watching this time, you know."

"And for me, the level of the talent that the contestants is way more - it's a whole other ballgame," he continued. "It's a game changer let's say."

"The Fashion Show: The Ultimate Collection," starring Isaac Mizrahi and Iman, premieres on Bravo Tuesday, November 9th at 10pm ET/PT, 9 C.
