Jada Pinkett Smith Says Working With Will Smith Puts A Strain On Their Marriage

October 21, 2008

Jada Pinkett Smith says working with husband Will Smith puts a strain on their marriage.

The actress - who has two children with Will - asked the actor to direct her scenes in upcoming movie "The Human Contract," but admits the request led to tension in the family.

She said: "The family that directs together has to work hard to stay together!"

Jada, 37, also revealed how her 10-year-old son Jaden ended up starring as his dad's on-screen son in "The Pursuit of Happiness."

She added: "When Jaden heard Will complaining that he was having difficulty casting a boy in one of his films 'The Pursuit of Happiness', Jaden said, 'I could play that role!'"

"Will said, 'You'd have to audition,' so he did and got the role, and now he's done two movies."

Jada insists Will, 40, is a fantastic father to their two children and his 16-year-old son from a previous relationship.

She added to Parade.com: "Will was at home this week doing the daddy thing... he's a great daddy."
