Jamiroquai Frontman's $1.4 Million Ferrari Smashed Up Outside Hotel

March 3, 2009

Jamiroquai's frontman Jay Kay's 1 million pound [$1.4 million] sports car has been damaged outside a Suffolk hotel. The singer's Ferrari Enzo, which had been the inspiration for the band's "Black Devil Car" track, had its windows smashed.

Kay, real name Jason Cheetham, was staying at an upmarket seaside resort when his beloved car, one of only 399 made in the world, was attacked. Its driver's side window and windscreen were both smashed.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He is being interviewed by the police.

The 39-year-old singer, who has an extensive collection of cars, bought the vehicle he called in his song "a love machine" for approximately $1.4 million in 2003.
