Jason Patric now wants custody after having donated sperm to his ex-girlfriend.

In a strange custody battle, actor Jason Patric wants custody of a child whom he made with his ex-girlfriend.

Doesn’t sound strange at all? Well Jason donated sperm so his ex-girlfriend could have a baby but the original deal was that she could never tell anyone, or ask for child support. TMZ reports that the facts were established early this month in a court hearing.

Jason and his girlfriend Danielle Schreiber are reported to have had an on and off relationship for more than a decade and they broke up in2009. According to reports the actor told his ex that he didn’t have any money to give her but the best thing he would give her is his sperm so she could have a baby.

According to TMZ Jason is reported to have made it clear that he would only provide his sperm if she promised not to tell anyone and not to ask for child support from him, to which she agreed.

The baby(Gus)was born in December 2009.The pair got back in 2011 but by May 2012.they broke up again.

So why the change of heart? According to reports after staying with baby Gus for a while, despite having not paid child support, Jason fell in love with baby and ended up filing documents asking a judge to award his 50/50 custody.

Because laws haven’t been set that protects such agreements, Jason is not legally the dad and has no custody rights. The judge has awarded Danielle temporary sole custody and physical custody of the baby. Jason gets visitation rights but Danielle doesn’t believe Jason should have any legal rights to custody or visitation.
