Jennifer Garner Says 3-Year-Old Daughter Thinks She's A Mermaid

Jennifer Garner's three-year-old daughter thinks she's a mermaid. The "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" star says Violet - her child with husband Ben Affleck - is confused as to whether she is a person or the mythical half-woman, half-fish creature.

The 37-year-old actress said: "She asked, 'Am I a baby? Am I grown up? Am I a mermaid? Am I a human being? I don't know who or what I am!'"

"I said, 'Yeah, that's what being three is like. You just don't know.' And she said, 'I think I'm 16. I think I'm 35.'"

Violet is not the only confused one. Jennifer - who gave birth to her second daughter, Seraphina, with Ben in January - says having two children has made her more scatterbrained than ever.

She explained: "Oh, if we could all just be second time parents the first time around. It's so much easier. The new baby's so happy, so easy you just forget about them. You think, 'Oh, we've got another kid. Right! Did we leave it in the car?'"

"It's crazy, it's like having 10 kids. You have one and you think you start to know what you're doing and it's under control, and then you have the other one and it all goes to hell in a hand basket."

Ben also changed his parenting style after the birth of Seraphina.

Jennifer said: "When Violet was a baby he was so careful and delicate. But now with our second he's just, like, flinging her around. he's got her by her foot."
