London, United Kingdom (AHN Entertainment) - While many of us want are looking forward to Prince William and Kate Middleton's upcoming wedding, Jerry Seinfeld thinks that it's just a "circus act."

The former "Seinfeld" comedian doesn't think much of the Royal Wedding and the Royal family on April 29.

During an interview with the U.K. TV show "Daybreak," Jerry weighed in on the upcoming nuptials of the future king, saying sarcastically, "I'm very excited," before telling the interviewer what he really thought of the whole event and the main people involved.

"It's a circus act. It's an absurd act," he said.

"You know, it's a dress-up. It's a classic English thing of let's play dress-up. Let's pretend that these are special people. OK, we'll all pretend that - that's what theater is."

"That's why the British have the greatest theater in the world. They love to dress up and they love to play pretend. And that's what the Royal family is - it's a huge game of pretend. These aren't special people - it's fake outfits, fake phony hats and gowns."

"It's fantastic. We don't have anything like that."

His comments are sure to incite reactions from both sides of the Atlantic. Even the hosts of "Daybreak," after watching the filmed interview, aren't amused by the American comedian.

Host Adrian Chiles has taken offense, but not because of the comments, but because of who made the comment.

Chiles said, "I'll join in on any of that stuff, if it's a Brit doing it. But I can't bear Americans criticizing the Royal family. It turns me into a Royalist!"

"He'll be doing that show from the Tower of London, never mind the O2."

Jerry will be appearing at the O2 on June 3rd.
