Joan Collins is desperate to make Britain's Camilla look less "matronly." The former "Dynasty" actress believes the Duchess of Cornwall - who is reportedly consulting a top make-up artist to help her overhaul her image - could improve her appearance drastically with just a few small tweaks.

Joan explained: "Let's start with her clothes. Camilla is looking a little matronly of late. The big hats she has taken to wearing overpower her. They seem to mirror Queen Elizabeth's style, yet Camilla is 22 years younger than Her Majesty. In some photographs they could almost be contemporaries." "The duchess needs to dress younger, but not too young. There is a fine line between mutton dressed as lamb and a chic, slightly daring older woman."

Joan, 75, suggests the 61-year-old royal - the wife of Prince Charles - takes to wearing structured one-pieces with nipped-in waists and shoulder pads to give her more shape.

The actress is also keen to see Camilla with a new hair style and more youthful make-up, claiming age is no excuse for getting stuck in a rut.

Joan told Britain's Hello! magazine: "As for her hair, Camilla's style drags her face down. A richer, honey-blonde shade, with paler highlights at the front and sides, would bring light to her face."

"With cosmetics, my advice would be start afresh and don't be afraid to experiment."

Among the cosmetics Joan suggests Camilla tries are an oil-free foundation, light-brown eyeshadow and bright lipstick.
