Joel Madden Surprises Nicole Richie And Harlow With A Family Weekend Getaway |

Joel Madden has surprised girlfriend Nicole Richie with a family weekend vacation in Palm Springs, the Good Charlotte rocker says. Madden, 29, has brought Richie and their 3-month-old daughter Harlow to the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival to chill out. He tells People magazine, "[Nicole] hasn't been able to do a whole lot over the year, so we're having a little family trip." The family enjoyed a three-day event in the California desert area, wherein Prince, Jack Johnson, and Roger Waters had performed. Madden had sidelined as a DJ in the festival pre-party Saturday afternoon. Madden continues, "I [rented] a house and surprised Nicole with a weekend trip because she like Coachella. She was like, 'I really want to go!' so I surprised her. We brought the baby." His twin brother and bandmate Benji was also there with his girlfriend, and Richie's best pal, Paris Hilton. When asked which pair will tie the knot first, Madden answers, "We're the family with the baby so I think probably us, but who knows." |
