Joel Madden Tapped To DJ At The Oscar Awards

Joel Madden is the official DJ for the Oscars. The Good Charlotte rocker has been tapped to provide music inside the Kodak Theater when the prestigious awards event airs on March 7.

The 30-year-old musician will serve as the house deejay at the show during commercial breaks. Producer Adam Shankman was the one who asked him to spin tables.

He told People, "We're friends and I asked him. I wanted there to be a party atmosphere and I wanted to make sure everyone in the room was having a great time. He's one of th ebst, and knows most everyone there."

Madden, who is engaged to baby mama Nicole Richie, expresses his joy in his first ever Oscar show through Twitter, saying, "guess who is Dj'in the Oscars. Me. Yes I will put on a bow tie of some sort."

"Thank you @adammshankman for making me a part of the show. I've never been to the Academy awards before. Gawrsh! [sic]"

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will be aired live on March 7 on ABC from the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
