Johnny Depp Leaves $4,000 Tip At Restaurant

June 24, 2009

Johnny Depp left a $4,000 tip at a Chicago restaurant. The 46-year-old actor was celebrating a red carpet screening of his new movie 'Public Enemies' with a group of friends - including his co-star Marion Cotillard and the film's director Michael Mann - at Gibsons Bar and Steakhouse when he left the mammoth gratuity.

Waiter Mohammed A. Sekhani confirmed to the Chicago Sun Times newspaper: "Depp hosted a party of 15 people, including Mann and Cotillard, and the tip was split 12 ways. Depp is the finest of all the stars I have ever waited on. And he is a true icon, and his ability to respect others is phenomenal. He loves Chicago, and Chicago loves him. Depp is one cool and generous dude."

Johnny partied at the eatery until 2.30am, before paying his bill - which came to $4,400 before the tip - and leaving.

This is not the first time Johnny has shown his appreciation of good service by leaving a huge amount of cash.

Last year, he left $1,500 after dining in Wisconsin.

A source said at the time: "Johnny had a big dinner with his friends at one of the local restaurants. When the bill came to $2,600, he decided to leave a $1,500 tip to show how much he had enjoyed himself."
