New York, NY, United States (AHN Entertainment) - "Tudors" star Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been hit with a lawsuit for allegedly assaulting and verbally abusing an airline worker in New York last year. United Airlines customer service director Kathryn Williams is suing the Irish actor his "tortuous acts" in May 2010.

The 33-year-old actor, who is banned from flying with United Airlines after a drunken tirade at its staff, allegedly "committed tortuous acts consisting of verbally and physically abusing plaintiff causing her to sustain physical injuries and severe emotional distress."

The document states that while he was at the United Airlines terminal of JFK International Airport, Meyers "willfully, maliciously, wantonly, and without any just cause of provocation, assaulted and battered" the plaintiff.

Reports claimed at the time that Meyers started screaming at the airline staff when they barred him from boarding the plane because of his alleged drunken state. He also allegedly used racial slurs, including the N-word when he was told he couldn't board the morning flight to Los Angeles.

Williams is seeking damages amounting to more than $15,000.
