Joss Stone Lashes Out At The British Government Over Treatment Of Soldiers

April 22, 2008

Joss Stone lashes out at the British government's treatment of injured soldiers. The soul singer says the way the government treats the soldiers is f****d up.

Stone, 21, tells the Evening Standard newspaper, "I think the way the Government treats our soldiers is really f***** up. They can go to war and fight for our Queen and country but if they get their leg blown off they come back and are dealing with the NHS."

"I think the NHS is thebest thing about this country, but they should have a right to private treatment paid by the Government."

The English songstress is performing at a gala event after the City Salute pageant, where Princes William and Harry have given their backing to.

She says of her backing for the event, "I'm doing it because I support the cause and also because they (the princes) are good friends.

"We don't hang out at the pub or anything, but we get on well and although they are the poshest people I know, they are so down to earth. It seemed like a nice thing to do."

The pageant will be on May 7 and will include fly-pasts and marches in front of St. Paul's Cathedral.
