Jude Law's Baby Mama Gives Birth To Their Daughter

Jude Law has become a father for the fourth time. The "Sherlock Holmes" actor was not believed to be present when model Samantha Burke - who he had a short fling with late last year - gave birth to a 5lb 12oz girl on Tuesday night.

Samantha has named the baby Sophia and is thrilled with the arrival of her first child.

Her publicist Eileen Koch told People magazine: "Samantha Burke is overwhelmed with joy at the arrival of her beautiful and healthy baby girl, Sophia."

Koch added both baby and mother are "doing wonderfully," even though the child was born one month premature.

Jude has three other children Rafferty, 12, Iris, eight, and six-year-old Rudy, with his ex-wife Sadie Frost.

The 36-year-old star met Samantha while he was filming in New York.

A few months later, she phoned to tell him she was pregnant.

The actor's spokesman said: "Jude Law can confirm that, following a relationship last year, he has been advised that he is to be the father of a child due in the fall of this year."

"Mr. Law is no longer in a relationship with the individual concerned but he intends to be a fully supportive part of the child's life. This is an entirely private matter and no other statements will be made."
