Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are mum as investigations into Justin's battery case move to a higher authority

If convicted of battery, Justin Bieber could face up to six months in Jail. Justin’s problems started on Memorial Day when he was allegedly involved in a scuffle with a photographer who was trying to take his pictures. Justin was in the company of his girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The investigations have started and the issue is getting serious after the police decided to refer the case to the L.A County D.A for possible criminal prosecution. Most cases that reach this point are always high-profile cases. The investigators will then seek to question the 18-year old and all potential witnesses.

Dmitry Gorin, a legal expert explained the circumstances that could lead to him being charged. The expert said if he was acting in self-defense, then he has some ground, but if he pushed or hit the photographer and it was not in self-defense, chances are he could be charged. He also added that it is not really a jail term offense.

The legal expert went ahead to say that indeed Justin could have been a victim of ‘paparazzi trap’. He said some photographers block the celebrities making it impossible to pass and they in turn end up confronting them.

Meanwhile as the investigations go on Justin is busy with his music. Bieber had tweeted “Gonna focus on the important stuff, the music .He went ahead to release a new single ‘Die in Your Arms’, and flew to Europe for his ‘Phase 1 operation secret concerts’.

The Boyfriend singer is currently in Norway but today he tweeted that he will visit Australia soon. He said “oh yeah…Australia Im coming July 15th.
