Justin Bieber's Vanity Fair cover magazine's worst-seller in years

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) - Justin Bieber can sell albums, concert tickets, and now even perfume. But there's something the teen titan can't move off shelves: magazines.

This year's February issue of Vanity Fair that featured Bieber on the cover was the worst-selling issue for the magazine in 12 years and one of the worst in nearly 20.

According to ABC data, the Bieber cover sold 246,000 copies, the worst tally the magazine has seen since Will Smith covered it in July 1999 while promoting the box-office bomb "Wild Wild West." Only one other sold less than Bieber's: Harrison Ford's July 1993 cover, selling 243,000 copies.

Although the February cover featured Bieber smothered in kisses, maybe his demographic of tweens realized it wasn't their kind of reading. The rest of the issues featured stories on Warren Buffett, Julian Assange, and John F. Kennedy.

But it's not just Vanity Fair. Surprisingly, covers from last year for Teen Vogue and People were both double-digit percentages below their average take.

So it looks like besides the likes of Bop and Tiger Beat (do those even still exist?), magazine editors might be thinking twice before putting the Biebs on their cover.
