Kate Middleton's Childhood Home Up For Rent

February 3, 2009

Britain's Prince William's girlfriend Kate Middleton's childhood home is available to rent. The four-bedroom property in Bradfield, south east England, where Kate lived until she was 13 is on offer for $1,750 a month.

Estate agent Dudley Singleton - who sold the house for Carole and Michael Middleton when they moved out in 1995, and remembers Kate as "a delightful girl" with "great charm" - says she would recognize much of her old home.

He said: "It would be very familiar to Kate if she had a look round it now. Carole and Michael built a very tasteful extension on the ground floor to make the kitchen bigger and to add a playroom, and that is all very much as they left it."

The Middleton's purchased the house, called West View, in 1979 and it was home to all three Middleton children, Kate, 27, Pippa, 24, and James, 21.

The playroom of the house was also the birthplace of the family's now highly successful mail order business Party Pieces, which sells party paraphernalia.

But despite sentimental attachment, Singleton doesn't think the prospective royal will be looking to move back In.

He said: "I'm sure the house would be very nostalgic for her, but I suspect she and Prince William might be looking for somewhere bigger."
