Kate Winslet runs a very strict household. The Oscar-winning actress - who raises her two children, Mia, eight, and five-year-old Joe, with husband Sam Mendes - is an authoritarian when it comes to family life and likes everything to run smoothly.
She said: "I really rule the roost, I absolutely steer the ship. Constantly making checklists - you know, library books have to go in on a Friday, make sure that one day a week the children are not having bread for lunch."
The family currently divides its' time between their homes in New York and England, but the "Titanic" star admits she and Sam are considering relocating back to the U.K. permanently to be near their aging parents.
She said: "My mother would hate this if she read it, but our parents are getting on now. Sam said to me not long ago that we really need to try to find a way to be more in England more. I said, 'Well, at the point our parents really need us to be around, of course we'll be there.' And he said, 'Darling, that's now.'"
