Katie Holmes And Tom Cruise Moving To New York City For Broadway Show

June 4, 2008

Katie Holmes, who will make her Broadway debut in the play "All My Sons" this fall, and Tom Cruise are moving to New York.

"[Katie] and Tom are committed to keeping the family together, so they have to get an apartment here," said "All My Sons" producer Eric Falkenstein in an interview the New York Post.

Holmes will play the part of Ann Deever, a woman whose pilot boyfriend goes missing during World War II.

Falkenstein said Holmes is "perfect" for the part, and that she has "that exact moral fiber" of Ann. "Katie's not a celebrity type. She's done brilliant work in films like Pieces of April and The Ice Storm. Ann starts out as a simple, sweet, average Midwesterner, and by the finale gets up the gumption to stand and confront what's wrong," he said.

Falkenstein is not the only one with confidence in Holmes.

Holme's close friend Victoria Beckham recently told Usmagazine.com, "I think Katie's incredibly talented. I'm very proud of her to be doing this play."

Holmes will be on stage six days a week when the play debuts this fall.
