Katy Perry Recalls Marrying In Vegas As A Prank

Katy Perry got married in Las Vegas. The "I Kissed A Girl" singer decided to tie the knot in a joke ceremony while in the famous U.S. city - where a host of celebrities, including Demi Moore, Bruce Willis and Britney Spears previously married - with a boyfriend three years ago.

She revealed to PopEater.com: "We took all the pictures with the minister, with the fake cake, in the fake chapel and got a fake marriage certificate. We went and bought a wedding dress and a suit at a thrift store, and scanned the pictures and the certificate to my family members, my manager at the time and totally freaked the s**t out of them."

"It was the most hilarious, stupid prank I've ever pulled."

The 24-year-old singer added the adventure was the inspiration for her new single "Waking Up in Vegas," which is about getting up to mischief with your partner.

Katy - who recently reunited with Gym Class Heroes rocker Travis McCoy following a brief split - revealed she does plan to walk down the aisle at some point in her life, but added her new role as a fashion trendsetter will make choosing her outfit daunting.

She said: "I plan on having a family one day and maybe not keeping up with all of the glamour."

"It's nice at my shows to see the girls in the front row having their hair cut like mine or having the little embellishments in their hair."
