Kiefer Sutherland is in trouble with the law again. The "24" star is under investigation for an incident which happened Monday night at a Met costume gala after-party in New York. According to TMZ, Sutherland reportedly headbutted a man in defense of actress Brooke Shields.

The problem is, however, a rep for Shields says "nothing happened to her." Shields' rep says the victim of the attack, Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough, did nothing inappropriate. "It's not clear what cause Kiefer to do what he did," the rep continued.

According to TMZ, witnesses reported that McCollough knocked Brooke Shields over. Sutherland then demanded McCollough apologize, which he responded to with a push. Sutherland then headbutted the man, causing lacerations on his nose.

McCollough reportedly designs clothes for Shields and the rep told TMZ he did "absolutely nothing to her."

Sutherland could be in more serious trouble. He is currently is on probation in Los Angeles for a DUI, which requires him to obey all laws. Shields will reportedly be interviewed by police this week.
