Kirstie Alley has defended actor John Travolta concerning the rumours that he is a homosexual. When appeared on Good morning America, Kirstie,61, told Barbara Walters that she knows Travolta with all her heart and soul.

She said “He is not gay. I think in some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big and famous enough, and they’re not doing drugs and they’re not womanizing, what do you say about them?”

The Veronica’s Closet actress who claimed that she lost 100lbs in September 2011 admitted that Travolta was the greatest love of her life. She said she fell in love with him after she met him on the set of ‘Look who’s talking’ back in 1989 but she couldn’t start a relationship with him since she was then married to actor Parker Stevenson.

Kirstie said “Believe me, it took everything I had, inside, outside, whatever to not run off and marry John, and be with John for the rest of my life”.

Asked why she did not split from Parker, Kirstie said “Because I feel when you marry someone, you’re supposed to work hard at it, and you’re supposed to make it work”.

Early this year Travolta was under attack by several men who accused him of sexual abuse. The first accuser was a male massage therapist who claimed that John mauled him and masturbated in his presence at Beverly Hills Hotel. The second man who filed a lawsuit against the Face/Off actor was also a massage therapist who claimed that Travolta had sexually harassed him at a hotel in Atlanta. The suits were however dismissed in May.

Last month, a deformation lawsuit against Travolta and his attorney Marty Singer which had been filed by writer Robert Randolph was also dismissed. Randolph wrote a book about Travolta concerning his sexual behavior, and complained about Marty’s response in a letter to the writer. He claimed the letter harmed him but the presiding judge of the LA Superior Court, judge Malcolm Mackey found out that the letter was under free speech protection.
