Kristin Davis Gets Her Motherhood Fix From Her Role On Film

September 28, 2009

Kristen Davis doesn't want children because she gets to be a mother on screen. The actress, who has reprised her role as married mom-of-two Charlotte York Goldenblatt for another "Sex and the City" movie, says the playing the character gives her all the experience of domestic bliss she needs.

She said: "I have just spent the day with my fake children. I get to do Charlotte's days at home with the dogs and the kids and living her life. I love it."

The 44-year-old star - who is believed to be dating photographer Russell James - admits people struggle to understand she is different from her on-screen alter ego and can't understand why she doesn't want to marry.

She added to Australia's Sydney Morning Herald newspaper: "We definitely don't share the focus on marriage and there have been some strange things written about me. I once went to a wedding and the next week there were stories with headlines like 'Kristin gives up on her dream of marriage,' which was never something I was focused on. I am not goal-orientated like that."

"When I say no to being photographed, people get surprised because they expect me to be nice like Charlotte."
