August 26, 2009

La Toya Jackson has called for "justice to be served" following her brother's death. Michael Jackson's sister is "relieved" court documents have revealed the star's death is being treated as a homicide, weeks after she publicly declared the star - who died of cardiac arrest following a lethal injection of the anesthetic Propofol - had been murdered by "shadowy members" of his entourage.

She said in a statement: "I am thankful to the investigators for uncovering the truth to the world. I look forward to the day that justice will be served to all the parties involved in my brother's homicide."

Although La Toya's statement was brief, fans will be able to hear her full views on Michael's passing next month.

She is set to give her first interview since his death on June 25 to U.S. TV host Barbara Walters on the "20/20" program on September 11.

La Toya is also set to guest host popular daytime TV show "The View" on September 16 and 18, which is co-hosted by Barbara.

It was revealed on Monday that the Los Angeles County coroner's report found the King of Pop died of a cardiac arrest on June 25 caused by a cocktail of drugs - including lethal levels of Propofol - he had been given to help him sleep.

The findings were unveiled in a Houston court when a search warrant for Michael's personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray was unsealed by officials investigating the case.

The warrant read: "The Los Angeles Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner, Dr. Sathyavagiswaran, indicated that he had reviewed the preliminary toxicology results and his preliminary assessment of Jackson's cause of death was due to lethal levels of Propofol (Diprivan)."

The official coroner's report remains sealed at the request of the Los Angeles Police department.
