Lady Gaga criticized by fans over a tweet she made when she landed in Bangkok

Lady Gaga’s tour has faced various obstacles and every step she makes seems to be one that would get her in trouble.

Gaga must have been excited about being in Bangkok and was planning a busy day, doing shopping. She tweeted that she was going to get lost in the lady market, to buy a fake Rolex. Many locals did not appreciate the tweet. Many of them took to the web to express their disappointment in how Gaga perceived their country.

She said “I just landed in Bangkok baby! Ready for 50,000 screaming Thai monsters. Today I wanna get lost in a lady market and buy a ‘fake Rolex’.

A commentator wrote on a popular Thai website “She came to our home, but instead of admiring our culture she insulted us”.

Surahit Siamwalla, a DJ in Bangkok tweeted “We are more civilized than you think”. The DJ has said he will not attend the concert despite having purchased tickets.

Long discussions have been held on various websites, some fans not taking it personal. When Lady gaga arrived, many fans were waiting to greet her at the airport. The rest of those who bought tickets are looking forward to see her perform.

Gaga’s tour in Asia has been full of problems. The Christians in South Korea held prayers and protested about her performing there. This week, she received death threats in the Philippines and despite having performed, many Christian youths protested and said she is an offence to Christ. The 26-year old singer was banned by the Muslims in Indonesia.
