Lady Gaga is not welcome in South Korea

April 27, 2012 Asia, Lady Gaga

Christians in Korea have called on Lady Gaga to cancel her concert in Seoul, saying it was pornographic and promoted homosexuality.

Subsequently, the government has banned under-18 fans from attending the concert but protesters went ahead to gather outside the venue.

South Korea has is the second country in Asia after Philippines with the most population being Christians. The Christian Council is said to have close to 12 million Christians and 55,000 churches.

The head of the “Civilians Network against Lady Gaga Concert’ Yoon Jung-Hoon said “Some people can accept this as another culture but its impact is huge beyond art and debases religions. Even adults can’t see her performance which is too homosexual and pornographic.

Gaga is in Seoul as she starts off her Asian ‘Born This Way tour’. The song born this way celebrates the empowerment of gay men and women.

The 26 year old who calls her fans monsters tweeted “Nervous for tonight. I hope I make little monsters happy and proud”.

Early this month, Lady Gaga was said to have been taking advice from astrologists over fears that the stars will be aligned in the wrong directions for her world tour. Reports said that she was not pleased to learn that the Mercury will be travelling backwards through the sky, which in astrological terms signified bad luck.
