Miami, Fla., United States (Celebrity News Service) - Latin pop singer Paulina Rubio is facing charges after getting into an argument with police in Miami after a minor traffic accident.

The 40-year-old Mexican singer was not at fault when she was involved in a car accident Saturday afternoon, but the situation got worse when she reportedly argued with the officer on the scene, reports TMZ.

According to the police report, when police told the singer to get out of the car and onto the sidewalk, she refused. She was also reported to cursing at the officer in Spanish.

That's when the officer slapped some handcuffs on her and threw her in the back seat of the patrol car, where she screamed out, "Help! Help! I didn't do anything! Look what they're doing! Help! Abusers! You bunch of liars! Help!"

The report said the singer calmed down and apologized an hour later and was issued a summons to appear in court instead of being taken to jail.

The report said the singer, who has a newborn son with public relations executive Nicolás Vallejo Nájera, claimed to have to rush home to breastfeed her six-month-old child.

Rubio has been charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice and refusal to obey a lawful command.
