Leonardo DiCaprio Donates $100,000 to ALS Research And Does The Ice Bucket Challenge

August 26, 2014 David Beckham

Leonardo DiCaprio is not one to stay away from challenges.

The Titanic star took to Facebook, where he uploaded a video of himself doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

“Hello from Lake Athabasca, we're here learning about the Canadian tar sands. We took a moment to join the #IceBucketChallenge movement in support of the ALS Association,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

The Inception star was challenged by David Beckham.

“My friends Chief Adam of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation challenges Dave Collyer, president of Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, Chief Courtoreille of the Mikisew Cree First Nation challenges Mark Little of Suncor Canada, and Sierra Club President Michael Brune challenges Shell CEO Ben van Beurden. And me? In addition to a donation from my foundation, I challenge Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper,” he captioned the video.

So, he took the challenge and nominated a head of state. But, that wasn’t enough!

Sources close to the actor have revealed that the 39 year old star has also donated a whopping $100,000 for the research.

Now, if they would just give him an Oscar already!
