Bow down to King Leo. Leonardo DiCaprio's star-studded gala managed to raise more than $40 million for the cause of saving and preserving the environment.

“We’ve decimated our forests, wild lands, polluted and over-fished our rivers and oceans, all the key ecosystems that not only serve as a home to our planet’s biodiversity, but also make life here for us possible,” DiCaprio said in his opening speech of second annual fundraiser of Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. “I’m incredibly proud to be part of a night that will allow us to do so much to protect the planet.

The evening, which featured a live auction, easily beat last year's $25 million and had featured performances from Sir Elton John and John Legend.

“Such an honor to share the stage with the incredibly talented John Legend,” the Tiny Dancer singer captioned a photo of himself with the Oscar winner. “And a joy to raise money to help save our planet for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.”

The event was was glamorous but was made even more memorable with the guests pitching in for the environment.
