Liam Neeson "Taking Each Day As It Comes" As He Grieves For Wife Natasha Richardson

August 27, 2009

Liam Neeson is "taking each day as it comes" as he grieves for his wife. The "Taken" actor says he and his sons Micheal, 14, and Daniel, 12, are still struggling to cope with the sudden death of Natasha Richardson in March.

The 57-year-old star said: "We're doing good. We are still getting extraordinary condolence letters from American people. That's deeply, deeply touching."

The outpouring of sympathy from the U.S. public has even inspired Liam to become an American citizen, more than 20 years after he moved to the country.

He explained to U.S. TV show "Good Morning America": "That is partly the reason that I have recently become an American citizen. I was born in Northern Ireland but America has been very, very good to me."

"I am still a proud Irishman, but I have become an American citizen, and am very proud of that."

The interview was the first time Liam has spoken in public since Natasha died of a brain injury after a skiing accident.
