Britain's royal choir has been hit with swine flu. Two pupils from St George's school in Berkshire - whose choir often perform at high-profile events at Windsor Castle - have been sent home and quarantined after they were diagnosed with the highly-contagious illness.

A spokeswoman from the school confirmed: "We have two pupils diagnosed with swine flu. They have a mild dose of the illness and are being monitored at home. But after consultation with the Health Protection Agency it has been decided to remain open."

Singers from the school, which is attended by Prince Edward's five-year-old daughter Lady Louise, previously performed at the royal weddings of both Prince Charles and Edward when they took place at the Berkshire estate.

This is the latest in a string of high-profile swine flu cases to have taken place in recent weeks.

On Tuesday, it was revealed Britain's prestigious Cambridge University have experience a fresh outbreak of the H1N1 virus, with 17 newly-confirmed diagnoses.

Earlier this year, Eton College was forced to close down for a week and Sandhurst military training academy also suffered from an outbreak. So far, more than 52,000 H1N1 cases have been reported worldwide - with 231 resulting in death.
