Daniel Radcliffe Takes Top Honor As 2008 Broadway Star Of The Year

Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Broadway revival of Equus, has been voted the 2008 Broadway.com Star of the Year by readers of the site.

Radcliffe beat out nominees Brian D'Arcy James star of Shrek, Patti LuPone of Gypsy, Lin-Manuel Miranda from In the Heights, and Kelli O'Hara from South Pacific for the honor.

When he learned of the news, Radcliffe told Broadway.com that it was "really, really amazing!" Radcliffe states that the Broadway community has been incredibly welcoming. Further he says that to have been nominated and win is "really, really cool!"

Radcliffe is best known for playing the role of Harry Potter in five blockbuster films and will reprise the title role in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the final installment in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
