"Harry Potter" mastermind J.K. Rowling has made a staggering $6 million for charity through her latest book, "The Tales of Beedle the Bard."

The author sold almost 370,000 copies in the first week of the book's release on December 4. Proceeds will be donated to the Children's High Level Group, a charity Rowling and MEP Baroness Emma Nicholson founded in 2005 for children.

Rowling said, "I am absolutely delighted that so much money has been raised and would like to thank everyone who has so far purchased a copy of the book. All royalties will be going to help children without families, many of them with disabilities, whose voices have been unheard for many years."

The book has sold more than 2.6 million copies and is currently the top-selling book of the year in USA Today and the Daily Telegraph.
