"Entourage" star and Emmy Award winner Jeremy Piven has announced he will be dropping out of the revival Broadway show, Speed-the-Plow, due to health reasons.
The actor recently announced that he has had to withdraw from the show due to a high mercury count. He has already missed two performances of the David Mamet revival.
Piven's rep told Variety that even though he wanted to continue with the production, he was advised by his doctors against it. She continued to Variety saying, "the diagnosis came from a team of doctors headed by Dr. Carlon Colker, an internist and attending physician at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut, and also CEO and medical director of Peak Wellness."
Playwright David Mamet told Daily Variety, "I talked to Jeremy on the phone and he told me that he discovered that he had a very high level of mercury. So my understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer."
The production will continue as planned and also stars Elisabeth Moss and Raul Esparza. His replacement for the show has not been announced.
