Madonna Turns 50 On Saturday As Most Successful Female Solo Artist |

Madonna, the reigning queen of pop, will celebrate her 50th birthday on Saturday. Her early years had her wearing cone corsets, publishing her sex book and kissing Britney Spears, and in recent years she has matured by becoming a children's book author and spends her time raising awareness about the devastating effects of HIV in Malawi. All in all, Madonna hasn't only endured, she has succeeded more than any other female solo artist. According to Guinness World Records, she is the most successful female solo artist, selling around 120 million albums and 40 million singles - a combined total more than any other female. Madonna's rep wouldn't say how the singer will celebrate her 50th birthday, she would only confirm that Madonna is currently in the U.K. |
