Mariah Carey To Feature New Songs, Covers On Second Holiday Album "Merry Christmas II You"

September 20, 2010 Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Randy Jackson

Mariah Carey is in the holiday spirit again and she's back with her second Christmas album, the cheekily titled "Merry Christmas II You." It's her first holiday album since 1994's multi-platinum selling "Merry Christmas" and is set to feature a new recording of her international seasonal classic, "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

The album, set to hit stores on November 2nd, will feature Mariah's take on classic Christmas tracks as well as four new original songs. Among the tracks are versions of "The First Noel," "O Come All Ye Faithful," "Little Drummer Boy," and "O Little Town of Bethlehem."

"Merry Christmas II You" will be led by the single "Oh Santa," which features production from Bryan Michael-Cox, who also worked with Carey on singles like "Shake It Off" and "We Belong Together." The album will also feature production from "American Idol" judge and former Mariah musical director Randy Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, James Poyser and Grammy, Tony and Emmy award-winning composer Marc Shaiman.

Carey's first Christmas album featured her takes on tracks like "Joy to the World," "O Holy Night," and "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," as well as originals such as "Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)" and platinum single "All I Want For Christmas Is You," which hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Recurrents chart every year from 2005 to 2008.

"Merry Christmas II You," set to be available in a CD/DVD edition, is Carey's 13th studio album. It's her first album since last year's "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," which featured her top 10 hit "Obsessed."
